My Dad was stationed at Lackland after being at Iraklion during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My twin sister and I were born on Lackland AFB in March 1964. We are just recently learning a lot about his experience on Iraklion. He and my Uncle Gary (former Marine in VIetnam)often talk about thing that happened or occured during their time. We are blessed they both returned safely to us and still are here to share history with their grandchildren. The funniest thing is his story about carrying LBJ's rocker off the plane and a secret service agent told him to stop or be stopped. He says he had to change his uniform after the run in. This site is really interesting and informative for my sisters and I. THanks
